Life After Lock Down

Life after Lock Down Day 110- 112

Day 110 we woke up to a cloudy humid day, a relief from higher temperatures but for breathing it’s like being in Turkish baths. Still feeling tired and brain fogged waiting for the full moon eclipse tonight, so I plan a little cleaning then to spend the rest of my day slipping in and out of meditation to switch off from what seems to be a world of conflict arising in everybody. This article was a pleasant reminder that whether people are ready or not the world is moving forward, especially pleasing to see a factory owned by Volkswagen in Germany’s “City of Cars,” Zwickau, producing its last ever combustion engine vehicle, closing 116 years of fossil-fuelled cars and switching to electric vehicle production only.” Volkswagen over the coming few years is on a large-scale transition to EVs, and plans to roll out 75 all-electric vehicle models along with around 60 hybrid models. I do wonder however why so many different models? this number seems a little excessive, let us only hope it will cater to everybody’s financial accessibility!

People in the Czech capital Prague got together as a community to build a 1,600-foot table and held a massive public dinner party on Tuesday, to celebrate the end of the country’s lock down and restrictions on large gatherings. It stretched through the city’s streets and over its famous Charles Bridge, people worked together taking food or flowers and tables were adorned with white tablecloths and flowers, the locals drank and shared food in a line as the sun set over the city.

At 6pm yesterday a cool breeze came in from no where, so taking this opportunity I ate early then went out for a long walk which I have missed since the hot weather arrived. Walking to the beach I was surprised to find along the roads and paths not many people wearing masks, mostly there were large families with children all running around as grandparents and parents carried all the beach gear home. As I started to paddle my way in the direction I was headed the cool sea was welcoming and refreshing to the point I thought about changing my plan to walk the higher path but decided it was probably quieter than the beach walk. I was wrong the beach was emptying as sunset approached and many people headed home, I realised they were mostly holiday makers walking to the hotel and holiday homes, locals head in the opposite direction to a large car park. I heard many languages I had forgotten were part of summer life, lots of noisy chatter and not much in the way of social distancing, in fact many were cutting across you or taking the whole path so you had to step to the side to allow them to brush past you, still not a mask in site! I guess on holiday away from home the worry of the past months has left them as they all play in the sun and take their strolls. I did feel a little out of place with my mask on and wearing a dress not beach gear but on hearing the English shouting at their children I reminded myself with a rattle in my throat and finding it hard to breathe as I do some days in high humidity, that they have arrived from a higher infection area to our almost nil area and how my own children would react if I picked something up. After this little mental conflict /distraction I continued mask on, even though past walks I hadn’t all the time with so few people around.

I focused only on the beauty that surrounded me, it was like all those people had disappeared! The nearly full moon was rising, the sunset was hazy and everything felt mystical, I even found some turtles swimming as I walked over the bridge, I hadn’t seen any on my previous walks there, in fact I haven’t seen any for many years I thought they had all left the area. The whole evening was beautiful, mystical and felt like something special was about to arise, I arrived back home just in time to do my nightly chanting and I slept like a baby in peace and balance!

Day 111 and a beautiful Sunday morning although the temperature is rising once again, if you aware of astrology then you will be aware last night was a full moon eclipse, the last of the eclipse season, I woke to the feeling of relief having survived this years eclipse season as we see its effects lesson over the next week. I have the last years had a hard time emotionally during this period lasting most of the summer, but this year I feel much less agitated and more balanced, in fact last night I slept well and dreamt auspicious dreams which this morning makes me feel brighter and with more confidence for the coming months. I still feel tired but fresh, hopeful and relieved/released from so much, which I am not sure of what, but I do know if feels like I have joyfully let probably a lifetime of pressure go!

Even seeing first thing a statement from John Apter, chairman of the Police Federation on duty in Southampton for the opening up of bars in the UK, saying it was “crystal clear” drinkers had not kept to social distancing rules. He had dealt with “naked men, happy drunks, angry drunks, fights and more angry drunks”, adding: “What was crystal clear is that drunk people can’t/won’t socially distance, it was a busy night, I know other areas have had issues with officers being assaulted.” This didn’t register any thoughts or emotions, it was like, of course what else would you expect! This is how the world is, the Spanish police have been coping with this all week as people flew over for holidays, sun and alcohol.

Going back to the planets and stars it reminds me of a few astronomy stories this week, serving to remind myself also of how small we each are in the scope of things, yet we are each unique and special as we make up the whole. There is so much for us to learn about our vast universe and those beyond, also of what part we play in it. A huge star has vanished without a trace, and without any supernova explosion, leaving astronomers puzzling over where it has gone, may be it was swallowed in a black hole or maybe it has just been obscured by dust!

Another story that found me today was that of Wanda Diaz Merced who studies light emitted by gamma-ray bursts, the most energetic events in the universe. When she lost her sight in early adulthood and was left without a way to work as an astrophysicist, she had a revelatory insight: the light curves she could no longer see could be translated into sound! Through sonification, she regained mastery over her work, and now she’s advocating for a more inclusive scientific community. “Science is for everyone,” she says. “It has to be available to everyone, because we are all natural explorers.” What an amazing inspirational woman, she adds that she is not particularly intelligent just very determined!

And lastly you can hear more sounds of the universe here created as the “Starsounds” project for the Starmus Festival set up by Dr Israelian and astrophysicist and legendary Queen guitarist Dr Brian May. Annually it is a celebration of stellar science and space exploration, music, and art, with esteemed patrons from both fields including the late Professor Stephen Hawking and Peter Gabriel.

Day 112 and a new week lies ahead, happy to have left the last week behind although personally I have faired well during what seems to have been a whirlwind of chaos as people have reacted, fallen out, found anger or frustration inside or just plain stupidity all around. I hope this mornings first stories that found my attention doesn’t mark the tone of this week to follow, US rapper Kanye West has said he is running for president, his wife Kim Kardashian West and entrepreneur Elon Musk endorsed him. Well Mr Trump a TV personality seems to have set the stage for those to follow, we could now see Musicians, Reality stars and Mr Musk taking the helm of politics. This may not bode well for our freedoms as Musk openly expresses his desire for us all to be chipped and connected to computers in the next 10 years and his staff work excessive hours! Sometimes I think I am dreaming and will wake up soon, in my ignorance I used to think politicians were highly qualified in political studies, but I was wrong those who do study it don’t usually end up in politics! It seems to lead a country you need the same qualifications as most people who work in shops or clean public toilets, except you don’t need past experience or references!

Speaking of Mr Trump it seems that Fox news has edited out photos of him with convicted sex offender and financier Jeffrey Epstein and the newly arrested socialite Ghislaine Maxwel as they report on her arrest, they did however leave in the frame Melanie Trump. It seems the pantomime of life and events is having its script edited as we go along, facts go missing and history changes. A little like banning, destroying or re editing books, papers or internet content that are now deemed as controversial or offensive. I question whether this is wise as past burning of books represents an element of censorship and usually proceeds from a cultural, religious, or political opposition to the materials in question.

Throughout the ages lost books has left a hole in our history as we struggle to piece it together, science was crippled and thought and speculation of the ages were often lost. We have seen history change by silencing information for future generations but now we see it happening before our eyes, falsifying facts like edited photos. We as an intelligent species should be able to have debates, discussions etc without all this anger and dirt throwing, future generations of historians should be able to access our now banned children’s novels and other works so they learn from our mistakes, beliefs or ideals of the time. In an ideal world history is a guide to our past mistakes, to learn from, to take the best and leave the rest moving us into a more peaceful inclusive society. We should always have reference to our failed societies and concepts as a reminder to not repeat them, they didn’t work and many suffered! An interesting long article depicting how we are being silenced or silencing ourselves regards free speech for fear of repercussion’s, this is what happens in totalitarian states!

As I sit here writing I cannot pinpoint when all this seemed to get out of control, I seem to remember things started to pose a worrying question at least 4 years ago as I watched the divisions over Brexit even to the point of one photograph of the same veterans appearing in different news papers depicting opposite sides and thinking which of these are true, what did these veterans really say? Unfortunately some of my spiritual, meditating friends/work colleagues have fallen into the chaos, gathering their own followings and influencing many people who trust them. Yesterday one posted a story on New Zealand’s new abortion laws which de criminalises abortion up to 20 weeks The post was from a site called Right to life org UK and her followers were all outraged vocally, angry and ready to protest the new law. Not believing that Jacinda Ardern the prime minister would allow this I searched and couldn’t find any other source that backed this information, in fact Right to life org NZ didn’t show this info! Are the Brits being infiltrated deliberately to stir up anger and divisions, and if so then for what reason? What is happening in the background and what plan is being hatched? Yes this probably sounds like a conspiracy theory but after working with addicts and bringing up teenagers you learn to spot distractions or lies! Where has my colleague gone, why isn’t she practising stepping back and taking a breath, finding the facts first, it seems she has fallen into the veil of illusion and deception that is raining down on our planet, its becoming increasing difficult to depict the truth.

I would like to think this following article and video below are the truth not an illusion, 425 million high-resolution images of the Sun, 20 million gigabytes of data over 10 years, an image of the Sun every 0.75 seconds, Atmospheric Imaging instruments capturing images every 12 seconds at 10 different wavelengths of light, some taken at a wavelength of 17.1 nanometers an extreme ultraviolet wavelength that shows the Sun’s outermost atmospheric layer, the corona. These together compiled to one photo every hour, the movie then condenses a decade of the Sun into 61 minutes showing the rise and fall in activity that occurs as part of the Sun’s 11-year solar cycle and notable events, like transiting planets and eruptions. The music titled “Solar Observer,” was composed by musician Lars Leonhard.

All that is left to say is Stay safe and take precautions to protect yourself and loved ones including taking care of your mental health, our outer chaos may just be a reflection of our collective inner chaos so take time to slow down, breathe, calm and ground yourself. Find your own truth not other peoples in the silence, keep your head above the chaos raining down and lets keep focused on creating a peaceful inclusive society for all. I hope you enjoy watching our golden sparking gem that we call our sun, truly amazing and our life force as without it we wouldn’t exist. 💜
